Check out how some of our programs celebrated International Peace Day 2018!
Baltimore, MD
On Friday, September 21st, over 65 students gathered together to celebrate International Day of Peace through soccer stations, art activities, and friendly scrimmages! Thanks to ‘Welcoming America’ and ‘Peace One Day’, everything throughout the day challenged students to think about the small steps we can take to all be peacemakers and agents of change with our friends, families, and within our community. We talked about the importance and effect one day of peace can have while showing each other difference examples of peace, respect, and welcoming throughout the activities. This event concluded Welcome Week, in which we had a big focus on welcoming new students, new coaches, importance of being a welcoming community, and starting a new year together!
Greeley, CO SWB Greeley had a Dutch style coed soccer tournament among our boys and girls middle school teams, in which opposing teams met to discuss how peace can be created on the soccer pitch and in their schools and communities, then played and refereed their own soccer match, and finally shared positivity points with the other team according to how well they played respectfully and according to the rules for peace they established.
